The number of scholarships awarded each year is dependent upon the quality of the applicants and the availability of places.Community philanthropy has been integral to The Friends’ School and its core values since the school was founded in 1887. Friends School offers two merit scholarship programs for new applicants. The scholarship is renewable up to four years. A committee of Seattle World School Friends, administrators, staff, and community volunteers will review applications in June and July 2020. Renewal of the scholarship requires a CGPA of 2.0. Students must apply and be accepted, and then show proof of participation in a Summit Ministries Live or Virtual Conference or show proof that they have paid to attend a future conference. Applications are assessed by the Fees Assistance Committee of the Board of Governors and all details are held in confidence.The Board may, from time to time, offer targeted bursaries to assist students from certain special groups. These students can receive a 10% tuition reduction scholarship for up to 4 years. Withdrawal from the University automatically cancels the scholarship and it cannot be renewed.This award is given to admitted transfer students who have a 2.5 to 2.9 CGPA. All scholarships are tenable throughout the student’s enrolment time. A variety of questions invite students to present written responses intended to demonstrate both the breadth and depth of their academic proficiency.
